Chapter 67- Psychotic delirium

12 hours have passed. Botan and her friends were already tired and had laid on the floor because there was nothing to do except to wait. In the fictional world created by Enma, the fighting between Mukuro and Youko was getting bloodier. Youko destroys anything that dares to cross his path, even Kuronue, who tried to stab him but was mercilessly beheaded. All the clothing wore by Youko is now in a reddish color caused by spilled blood. In fact, Youko was dangerously close to having psychosis:

-I tried everything but I can't even touch his feelings!- Mukuro is scared.

-Came back here your dickhead, stop sending your knockoff puppets, I will blow you away!!! - Youko yells at her.

For Mukuro, there is no choice except promptly attacking Youko, as he seems to be unstoppable. Then, she mimics a sword using his hand and goes after Youko:

-Using a fake sword might not be the best move!
-Wait for it, you'll be fucked up!

Mukuro moves her hand away from Youko, then swinging it and generating a sort of a sharp shockwave projecting in the air, going forward many miles away. Youko has an arm chopped off as he hadn't expected that technique, and the pain is extreme:

-You... you have granted a place in the graveyard, I'll blow you away!!!
-So come in to die!

Mukuro repeatedly uses her technique but Youko manages to avoid it. Objects dozens of miles away are chopped like cheese.
Youko tries a rose whip, but Mukuro neutralized his attack before it hit her.  With an arm chopped off, in a psychotic state and feeling an unmeasurable pain, Youko seems to lose the advantage he had in the start:

-You'll be chopped into tiny pieces! - Mukuro laughs.
-Not sure!

Youko concentrate some of his KI, locking himself in a kind of energy shell:

-I hope it works, I'm not sure!

Mukuro tries to attack him again using her invisible sword technique, and Youko puts one of his feet in front of the shockwave. It successfully blocks Mukuro's attack:

-What the hell?!- Mukuro does not believe in what she sees.

Youko punches Mukuro in a blink. The punch was so strong her clothes get destroyed by the shockwave, and it passes straight through her chest. Youko gets surprised to see one half of her body is organic and the other half, mechanic:

-Were your body rebuilt?
-Yes.... it was.

 Mukuro falls to the ground, disintegrating herself after the impact. Youko gazes at her:

-You deserved it, even though it could have had a different ending, should you wanted.

A bright light shines on the horizon, almost like a lighthouse:

-I feel I must go there, but why should I do it?

While Youko flies heading to the bright spot, Shuichi wakes up after being punched by him earlier. Youko's arm, chopped off by Mukuro during the fight, starts to regenerate very quickly. Then, Youko lands on ground, closes his eyes and caresses Shuichi, taking him to his arms:

-Shuichi, please forgive me...
-Youko...

Shuichi hugs Youko and then kisses him. Youko responds by caressing his nape:

-Please... do not act in such a crazy way again...
-No need to worry, Shuichi, I'll do whatever I can to protect you. I love you so much, Shuichi, and you know it...

Youko hugs Shuichi, who rests his head on Youko's chest, getting calmer and more confident:

-I can hear your heart and feel your heat, Youko...

Youko arrived in a different location shortly after. This place has a lot of flowers, mild temperatures, and beautiful constructions in a traditional fashion. A tall, long-haired man wearing hanfu plays a bamboo flute. Amid a garden, Botan is sat in a bench, and smiles as soon as she sees Youko:

-Kurama? My lustful fox!


Youko lands quickly to get her, holding her hands;

-Botan… we love you so much…
-I know how much you do...

She kisses him. Youko returns, intensifying the kiss. Botan hugs him tightly, holding him up. Youko bends down, and Botan caresses his fox ears, then biting it very lightly.
Youko starts to fade away, followed by an intense glow in the landscape, which turns completely white. Botan also disappears, and Youko is left alone with Shuichi, who keeps hugging him.
At the temple of Enma Daioh, Yomi notices Kurama's youki getting progressively stronger;

-Kurama's Youki is getting stronger! -He celebrates.
-But is he fine? - Botan asks.
-I think so, otherwise, his energy would have dropped.-Yomi smiles.

On the outer side of the wall, Kurama slowly comes back. Enma Daioh smiles when he sees that he has finished the test before the deadline. As soon as he wakes up, he got the compliments from Enma;

-You were approved… from now on, you are free to get in the spiritual world, you are a spirit detective and you can stay with Botan.

Both Youko and Kurama show happiness with the result they got. The wall that isolates him from his friends disappears, and as soon as he sees his friends, he runs to them, embracing them, especially Botan and Yomi;

-I SUCCEEDED… I SUCCEEDED!!!

Everyone is euphoric to know that Kurama succeeded in his mission. Enma Daioh keeps his usual sober stance but acknowledges Kurama was competent, as never ever before anyone had gone through so many hard tests to be a spiritual detective.
