Yomi sleeps deeply, always following his time schedule. As the powerful youkai he is, all his organic activity is well regulated so he can get out the largest amount of power and better use his youkai energy. For safety reasons, after Kuronue's failed murder attempt, he always sleeps with an energy barrier for protection. This barrier is not really needed when he's at home because anyone trying to get there to kill will first have to deal with all the security in the building, and even if it succeeds in bypassing the system, it will face Hoshiyomi or Tsukiyomi, who have lots of experience fighting.
On that day, Byakuya was sleeping with Shiori. Apart from that, he intended to try an old technique he developed and would try that on everyone within 30 or so meters, or about 100 feet, in all directions from wherever he was standing. That's an "illusion trick" capable of forcing his opponent to sleep and dream, and Byakuya could also decide if a nightmare or a dream would show up. He gets up from the bed and sits down over a pillow in a quasi-lotus position, focusing his energy:
-My trick should work as intended... everyone deserves it.
Byakuya's youkai energy expands like a balloon being blown, growing until the "first stage" rapidly. The first stage has a reach of about 100 feet, which is more than enough to affect everyone he intends to:
-Well, let's begin it...
Byakuya closes his eyes and starts to modulate his energy constantly, so it will hit everyone within range. Surprisingly, even Yomi has been affected by this energy, which started to accumulate inside his mind.
The same process affects Botan and Shuichi, but now Kurama is in 'dual mode': one beam of energy hits him, and another hit Youko. This beam has bridged their mind somehow, and Yomi followed suit, bridging all three in the same "level".
A bit later, Byakuya had to stop. His own energy has dropped by a fair amount, and he was tired. He then slowly came back to the bed. However, all the mental bridges his technique created were left active, =>*yay, 100k words mark*<= and the dreaming was extended.
Kurama switched to Youko at midnight, throwing the blanket on the floor, and letting Botan be exposed to the cold air. He was smiling and moving on the bed a little bit, especially with his tail wiggling in a gentle way. Yomi was acting similarly, but no one was bothered, as he was alone in bed. After waking up later, Botan was surprised to see that Kurama switched to Youko:
-Hahaha, he switched to Youko and I was not aware, but why? He has thrown away the blanket, what a silly fox! Why is he smiling and sweating?
Botan smiles and reaches out to one of Youko's ears, gently grabbing it:
-Wake up my fiery fox!!!- Botan kisses him on the cheek.
Youko's eyes open suddenly as if he was scared of her action, but he recovers immediately:
-Good morning, Botan...-Youko stretches over the bed.
-Good morning my fiery fox, why are you smiling so much? It seems that you have had perfect dreams!
-Yes, excellent dreams... and yours?
-They were so good too... I have dreamed of Shuichi! How about you?
Youko blushes:
-Well... with... Yomi...
Botan laughs:
-Hahaha I expected this would happen. But hopefully, today, Yomi will be able to see how handsome you are!-Botan kisses him.
Both get up and go for a shower together. Yomi had just finished his shower and was putting on a lovely kimono:
-Wow, dad, what a nice-looking Kimono? Who chose it?
Yomi smiles and stares at Shura:
-Kurama.
-Kurama? When? I haven't seen him getting there today.
-I dreamt about him.
-Seriously? Have you engaged in a fight? You won it for sure!
Yomi adjusts the kimono:
-Hahaha, not even close, my son. Our dreams are not only about battles anymore, it was when we were kids, but not nowadays. Now our common interests cross about anything you can imagine.
-Dad, if you haven't fought, what have you done then?
-Well, we've just had a conversation.... and he told me a lot of new and good stuff that let me very happy.
Yomi has left his bedroom and met with Hoshiyomi, who's frequently nearby:
-Good morning Mr Yomi, are you ok?
-Yes, Hoshiyomi, I'm fine. Your energy is quite high and good, what happened?
-Well, I had a fantastic dream... and Tsukiyomi too. This is not trivial for us.
-What a coincidence, Hoshiyomi, I've experienced the same thing too. I wonder what has happened.
-I have no idea too. Might have been Enma's influence.
-Maybe. But let's forget about that and have a nice breakfast. I'm looking forward to recovering my vision as quickly as possible.
-Yes, right! Today you'll apply for surgery in the Reikai world.
-Yes, and I'm looking forward to it.
Kurama switched back to Shuichi after finishing his shower. He wore his normal clothes and was walking along with Botan until they met Yomi in the hallway. Botan finds Yomi's kimono very classy:
-Good morning Yomi, what a nice Kimono!
-Good morning Botan, thanks for the praise!
Shuichi approaches Yomi and greets him:
-What a great day, Yomi.
-Yes, let's just do what we have agreed, right?
-Yes, for sure!
Yomi moves away from Hoshiyomi and takes Shuichi by hand:
-You can all go, we will come back in a minute.
-Oh, ok! -Botan can't react - What's going on with them? - She thinks.
Yomi takes Shuichi to his bedroom and shuts the door:
-Do you think they will like it, Yomi? - Shuichi smiles.
-I think they will, just enter the closet and try it yourself.
Shuichi entered the closet and found a similar but smaller version of Yomi's kimono there.
-He bought a similar kimono just for me? - Shuichi smiles.
Shuichi puts on the kimono and checks in the mirror if it suits him well:
-The fitting is flawless, how could Yomi do it if he can't even see me?- Shuichi is impressed.
Shuichi exits the closet and meets Yomi again:
-This kimono is perfect, and the fitting is flawless, how do you achieve it? Who helped you?
-I just brought one of your suits to a tailor. I requested him a copy of my kimono, but for your size.
-But... when have you done it?
-2 years ago.
-2 years? Hahaha, you anticipating things as always!
Yomi sits down in the bed, and Shuichi comes to him, caressing his face and tenderly staring at him:
-Let's go, Yomi, let's open these eyes again...
-Yes, Shuichi, let me see you...
Yomi hugs Shuichi for a moment, then gets up:
-Let's go there, our friends are waiting.
-Right.
Yomi and Shuichi meet their friends in the kitchen. Byakuya and Shiori got up earlier and put a varied breakfast on the table.
